Workshops and other FREE Saturday afternoon events on-site!
Starting after breakfast, come on over to the Terrace Hotel for a morning filled with music, stories, and laughter from your hosts, the boys in Balsam Range and some of their closets friends. You might even learn something!
Starting things off is Milan Miller ( key songwriter for so many of BR's hit songs, and hit maker himself. IBMA's 2020 Songwriter of the year! Along with Adam Wright, (twice Grammy nominated songwriter, singer, producer, and musician. His songs have been recorded and performed by Alan Jackson, Lee Ann Womack, John Legend, Brandy Clark (with Randy Newman), Robert Earl Keen, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, and others.) they are hosting a free Songwriting workshop! You don't have to be a fledgling songwriter to attend, this is an interesting listen for anyone who is a music fan.
Next, pop over to the Terrace Auditorium and join your hosts for the weekend as they spend an hour with you at the annual ( and very popular) BR full band workshop. This usually serves an an Q-n-A from fans and is always a hoot.
NEW for 2022, after the first hour is up, hang around and whip out your instrument because you will get the chance to JAM with Balsam Range! Hour 2 of the BR workshop will be an organized jam session! We are excited to see how this works out!
Caleb Smith, our resident luthier will show you the tricks of the trade with his instrument building workshop ( it's fascinating) and show a glimpse into how he is crafting some of the most in-demand guitars on the market right now.
Next, head outside and grab a bite from one the food trucks and then over to the Harrell Center just across the street for one of 2 free showcases!
Milan Miller and Missy Armstrong will entertain with "Songs for your Saturday afternoon" The year 2019 saw Missy Armstrong emerge as a solo artist, releasing the singles Ain’t Going Down to the River and Broke Down in Arkansas. Both songs spent multiple weeks at number one on the national airplay charts and finished in the top ten of the most played songs of the year.
We are delighted to have a Youth Talent Showcase this year as well! The future of the music we love is still holding strong and we love to foster that any chance we get! Come support these kids, y'all!
